Giving further clarifications Mr Mkono admitted that Mr Zitto’s two vehicles were from him but he did not give them to the embattled MP through bribe.

Dar es Salaam. Musoma rural Member of Parliament Nimrod Mkono has come out yesterday clarifying his relationship with the troubled Zitto Kabwe and the opposition chairman Freeman Mbowe, denying all the allegations directed to him by his fellow advocate and Singida East legislator Tundu Lissu.

Mr Lissu alleged at a press conference on Sunday that Mr Kabwe had been given two vehicles by Mr Mkono, a CCM legislator, which was improper.

Mr Mkono said the two vehicles that have been said by Chadema that he offered the Kigoma North legislator Zitto Kabwe is just a political game, saying he has never offered

“I’m suddened by how Chadema is trying to implicate me in gutter politics......they should leave me out of their quarrels. It should be known that neither Zitto nor Mbowe have beneficiaries of funds from me,” Mr Mkono noted.

Giving further clarifications Mr Mkono admitted that Mr Zitto’s two vehicles were from him but he did not give them to the embattled MP through bribe.

One vehicle which formerly belonged to Mr Mkono was purchased by Mr Kabwe through an auction conducted by Africariers, according to the Msoma rural constituency. The same vehicle had been used to hastily ferry to Musoma town Chadema leaders who had gone to attend the former MP Chacha Wangwe’s burial in Tarime after their lives seemed in danger. Mr Kabwe eventually bought the vehicle.

Mr Mkono said he rent the other vehicle, a Nissan Patrol, Mr Mkono to Mr Kabwe and he has been paying the dues as agreed by both sides. He said he was wondering how Chadema can tell the public that they have his concent over Zitto issues.

“I had never talked to Lissu over this matter.....this is dirty politics which I should not be involved. They should settle their issues amicably,” Mr Mkono said

Adding that, they have said they I even ‘bribed’ Freeman Mbowe so that I can go unopposed. He said that he went unopposed in all general elections since 2000 to 2010 and there were no need to do anything against the law.
