THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JOURNALIST, SALMA SAID.

Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), the publisher of Mwananchi, The Citizen and MwanaSpoti newspapers, continues to closely follow up the matter regarding The disappearance of our Zanzibar based reporter, Ms Salma Said.

Reports about Salma’s disappearance reached us on Friday, March 18 in the afternoon, through her husband. Up to now, there is no concrete information on who or what agency is holding the Journalist.

This development is worrisome to the company as well as other media stakeholders. We take this opportunity to ask relevant arms of the government that are tasked with the security and safety of Tanzanian citizens to urgently intervene and bring to closure the mystery surrounding the missing of Ms Salma.
