Mr Lema, who was tabling an alternative budget on Tuesday, said the DPP had been misusing his power by putting behind bars suspects, who could be bailed out.

Dodoma. Shadow Minister for Home Affairs Mr Godbless Lema has called for reforms of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) office as he accuses DPP of misusing powers.

Mr Lema, who was tabling an alternative budget on Tuesday, said the DPP had been misusing his power by putting behind bars suspects, who could be bailed out.

“I pray to God that every Member of Parliament (MP) could be jailed for two months so that he/she can experience injustice which faces inmates,” he told the august House.

The shadow minister also condemned the killings of local leaders and police in Kibiti and Rufiji districts. He asked the government to act swiftly to end the killings of innocent people.
