Speaking to journalists and stakeholders in Dar es Salaam on Thursday evening, the company’s East African head Mr Piyush Chandra said that unlike other cosmetics their products are tested on human volunteers making them safe for human use.

Dar es Salaam. Oriflame has assured its growing customer base in Tanzania that their products are safe for human use despite concern on the use of Paraben in some of their products.

Speaking to journalists and stakeholders in Dar es Salaam on Thursday evening, the company’s East African head Mr Piyush Chandra said that unlike other cosmetics their products are tested on human volunteers making them safe for human use.

“We are aware of this type of concern but our research institutions have not established any such threats in our products so far,” said Mr Chandra.

This was at an event that was convened to celebrate the Swedish cosmetics giant Oriflame’ s 50 years of manufacturing and distribution of cosmetics and makeup worldwide.

The firm which was founded in Stockholm in 1967 has been operational in Tanzania for five years now.

The East Africa Regional manager said their existence is due to the commitment and values of togetherness, spirit and passion to excel.

“Our relentless desire to improve, enrich and progress has been a driving factor for our people at the research and development to find the latest and sustainable skin care solutions,” said Mr Chandra.

This according to him has seen the company operate in over 66 countries worldwide selling natural skin care and cosmetics products marketed through direct selling system.

“This strong focus on natural ingredients was there at the very beginning therefore enabling us to become the first direct selling company in Europe to offer skin care products based on natural ingredients,” he said.
