Police murder case continues with new accused

The case will come for mention on November 26.

Dar es Salaam. Six people have been accused of murder in connection with Stakishari Police Station attack in dare es Salaam in July this year.
Ally Mohamed, Hamis Mohamed, Nassor Mohamed, Seleman Abdalla, Said Mohamed and Said Abdullah were joined in the case facing four other accused persons who were arraigned on September 11.
The prosecution led by State Attorney Hellen Mushi joined the newly charged suspects after dismissing the previous charge.
Other accused persons in the case are Omary Makota, Rajabu Ally, Ramadhani Hamis and Fadhil Lukwembe.
They appeared before Resident Magistrate Thomas Simba and they were not allowed to enter plea because the court has no jurisdiction to hear murder cases.
Ms Mushi alleged that on July 12 this year, at Stakishari Police Station in Ukonga, Ilala district, the accused persons murdered seven people, including four police officers.
The accused allegedly murdered Corporal Gauden, Corporal Peter, Sergeant Adam and Constable Anthony.
They are also alleged to have murdered Salehe Semkoko, Erick Swai and Jacqueline William.
The case will come for mention on November 26.
The accused were arrested following a hunt launched by a police force after the murder of police officers where a specified number of firearms stolen when armed gangsters attacked the police station.
Four officers stationed at the Stakishari Police Station and two civilians were shot dead during the raid. The seventh person was believed to be a member of the gang, who was gunned down by his accomplices as they fired indiscriminately during their escape.
