President Magufuli appoints Dr Shein new Mzumbe University Chancellor

Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli has appointed former Zanzibar President Dr Ali Mohamed Shein to serve as the new Mzumbe University Chancellor.
According to a statement issued by the director of Presidential Communications Mr Gerson Msigwa, Dr Shein takes over from former Judge Barnabas Samatta, who has retired.
Dr Shein recently retired as Zanzibar’s president after serving for two consecutive five-year terms, with Dr Mwinyi succeeding him in the top office.
President Magufuli has also picked former Information, Culture, Arts and Sport Minister Dr Harrison Mwakyembe as the new Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (Muhas) Council Chairman. Dr Mwakyembe succeeds Ms Mariam Mwafisi, who has also retired.
The statement also says Ms Gaudencia Kabaka has been reappointed as Dodoma University Council Chairperson for another second term
According to the statement, the appointments come into effect from November 24, 2020.
