Arusha. The media has been mentioned as a key stakeholder in making the fifth phase government succeed in attaining industrialisation.
Habari Maalum College principal Jackson Kaluzi said this during the college’s 14th graduation, whereby 57 graduates were awarded certificates and diplomas in journalism, communication and leadership.
He said the media in the country had the capability of advertising economic opportunities available in the country and attract industrial investors, who could invest in Tanzania and enable it to attain the middle income economy status.
However, he said there was a need for the government to reform the education system in the country to make it meet expectations of preparing students towards the middle income economy status and industrialisation.
"These graduates have been prepared for not only being employed, but also for self-employment because each did a special course on entrepreneurship for self-employment," he noted.
Earlier, the bishop of Elishaddai Pentecostal Church of Tanzania (FPCT), Arusha Diocese, Josephat Swai, who is one of the owners of the college, said he was satisfied with the development of the college, including the construction of a modern studio.
