Saudia Group unveils ambitious plan for Hajj season 2024

Medina. The Saudia Group has announced a comprehensive operational plan for the upcoming Hajj Season 2024, designed to accommodate pilgrims from across the globe and streamline essential services at various key locations.

With a commitment to excellence and efficiency, Saudia Group has allocated over 1.2 million seats, optimizing its fleet of more than 150 aircraft renowned for operational reliability and premium services. This initiative aligns with the directives of Saudi leadership and underscores collaborative efforts with various entities involved in serving Hajj pilgrims.

The operational period for Saudia Group during Hajj Season 2024 spans 74 days, commencing from May 9. To ensure smooth operations, specialized teams have been strategically deployed across performance monitoring, terminal operations, and coordination with relevant sectors. Furthermore, Saudia Group has meticulously prepared emergency plans in collaboration with stakeholders and conducted virtual simulations at Jeddah and Madinah international airports.

During the Hajj Season, Saudia Group will extend its services to five domestic airports, including Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, Dammam, and Yanbu. With a dedicated team of over 11,000 frontline employees and aircraft maintenance technicians, the Group aims to maintain operational efficiency and facilitate a seamless flow of movement at the airports.


Amer Al Khushail, CEO of Saudia Hajj and Umrah, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve pilgrims, emphasizing Saudia's pivotal role in enriching the spiritual journey of millions. He underscored the Group's commitment to integrating efforts across all sectors, enhancing pilgrims' satisfaction through streamlined procedures and world-class services.


As part of its initiatives, Saudia Group will implement the "Makkah Route" initiative to streamline immigration processes for pilgrims to Makkah, serving over 120,000 individuals. The "Luggage First" service will continue, handling 270,000 bags and 240,000 Zamzam bottles to ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims.


To further enhance the pilgrimage experience, Saudia aircraft have been equipped with screens displaying essential information such as Miqat boundaries and prayer times. Additionally, the screens offer over 300,000 minutes of Islamic content developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.


Saudia Group remains committed to accessibility, providing transport for individuals with disabilities and offering medical assistance onboard as needed. The Group also facilitates luggage collection from pilgrims' residences, streamlining travel procedures for return flights after the pilgrimage rites.


In preparation for the Hajj season, Saudia Group is set to sign agreements with government delegations and travel agents to meet high demand across over a hundred destinations worldwide. The Group aims to ensure seamless bookings through its offices and online channels, accompanied by awareness campaigns on luggage acceptance criteria.
