Seif Idd leads prayers ahead of Ramadhan

Zanzibar. Zanzibar Second Vice President, Seif Ali Idd said on Friday that maintaining solidarity, love, peace and security among citizens was important aspects as Muslims prepare for Ramadhan fasting that begins at end of the month.
Mr Idd was speaking during a special prayer held at Malindi’s main Mosque in Zanzibar organized by the Isles Peace Committee. It was attended by the country’s Chief Mufti, Sheikh Abubakar Zubeiry Ali and Zanzibar’s Chief Kadhi, Sheikh Khamis Haji Khamis.
Others are Deputy Zanzibar Kadhi, Sheikh Hassan Othman Ngwali, Secretary in the Mufti’s office, Sheikh Suleiman Soraga, House of Representatives Speaker, Mr Zubeir Ali Maulid, Urban West Regional Commissioner (RC), Ayoub Mohamed Mahmoud and government, political and religious leaders.
Speaking during the service, Mr Idd warned businessmen who used Ramadhan fasting to reap illegal wealth by hiking food prices that the government would take stern measures against them because they intentionally decided to hurt fellow citizens.
