Ubungo Municipal Council signs contracts worth Sh40billion

Dar es Salaam. Ubungo Municipal Council on Friday signed a total of 30 contracts with different contractors for the implementation of development projects which have been in the pipeline for four months now.
The projects include municipal roads, water infrastructure improvements, and health services in Sinza Palestina hospital.
The contracts were signed between the Ubungo Municipal council Executive Director John Kayombo, its Mayor Boniface Jacob and contractors.
The signing ceremony took place at the municipal headquarters in Kibamba.
Briefing journalists Mr Kayombo said that the total cost of all the contracts is Sh40billion and they are expected to commence any time this month.
On his part, the Mayor said that all the contracts were selected through a lawful tendering process.
“…any contractor who will not work according to the law and timeline, there contracts will be discontinued and further action will be taken against them,” he said.
