Cheka faces Russian in a do or die IBF bout

Dar es Salaam. Prominent professional boxer Cosmas Cheka will on December 19, fight against Russian Vyacheslav Gusev in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) - International Super featherweight title.

The bout has been organised by promoter Alexey Vasiliev.

Preparations are complete ahead of the eight round scheduled fight. Cheka, who is now under manager Shomari Kimbau, training intensively ahead of the fight.

He has vowed to silence his opponent through knock out (KO) or technical knockout (TKO).

Cheka, who is now holding interim WBO Asia Pacific featherweight title, has a record of 15 wins, four losses and four draw.

“As you know, I have experience in fighting abroad and I won this title. I want to make history in the game,” he said.

“I know it will not be easily to win, but I will do my best to shine and win the title.”

His famous trainer, Abdallah Lilamba, alias Commando, has an uphill task to ensure the boxer wins the bout. If Cheka loses, he will be stripped off his WBO Asia Pacific title too.
