CCM losses Buyungu parliamentary seat to Chadema

According to Buyungu constituency returning officer Mr Jaina Msangi Mr Bilango scooped a total of 23,041 votes against Mr Chiiza who garnered a total of 22,984 votes.

Kakonko. Minister in Prime Minister’s Office (investment and empowerment) Christopher Chiiza has failed to defend his Buyungu parliamentary seat after he was defeated by Chadema candidate Mr Kasuku Bilango.

According to Buyungu constituency returning officer Mr Jaina Msangi Mr Bilango scooped a total of 23,041 votes against Mr Chiiza who garnered a total of 22,984 votes.

Mr Bilango also edged out NCCR-Mageuzi’s Mr Athanas Mawazo, who garnered 1237 votes and ACT-Wazalendo’s Leopard Muahaga who garnered 775 votes.  

Mr Chiiza conceded defeat and congratulated Mr Bilango for winning the seat. On his part Mr Bilango reassured Buyungu residents that he will implement all the promises he made during the campaigns.
