Kim also refuted reports that he was preparing himself for coaching Tanzania youths ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals to be held in the country.

Dar es Salaam. Danish technician Kim Poulsen has denied reports that he was planning to join Simba Sports Club during the ongoing Tanzania Mainland Premier League.

Kim also refuted reports that he was preparing himself for coaching Tanzania youths ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations finals to be held in the country.

Speaking with The Citizen, Kim said he was on holiday and that he decided to come back to Tanzania owing to the beauty the country was endowed with. “I have lots of friends in Tanzania, I enjoyed when I was here. I am a coach, but currently there is nothing between me and neither Tanzania Football Federation nor Simba Sports Club,” he said, adding: “I am a very experienced coach, if TFF and any other club is interested in me, I am ready for discussions. I may come back for the national team or a club, as football is my career.”

He said he was waiting for a final response from Rwanda Football Federation which had shown interest in his service. “We’ll talk after Champions of African Nations (Chan), as you know, they have injected lots of money in hosting the event, they told me to wait on the matter,” he said.

Kim joined Tanzania in 2011 as head of the Youths national teams and in May 2012, he was promoted to take the task of Tanzania senior team, replacing his fellow Dane Jan Poulsen.

Many soccer fans admired him due to the fact that Taifa Stars shone in various international matches, including the 3-1 win against Morocco at the National Stadium.

Kim also led Taifa Stars against Cote d’Ivoire which comprised world stars like Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure, Solomon Kallou, Gervihno, Wilfred Bonny, and Lacina Traore of Anzhi Makhachkala during the world cup qualifiers and lost 4-2. Taifa Stars played well in the encounter despite the loss. He is also remembered for a good job in the U-20 youth team.
