Simba SC face Ruvu Shooting in tough duel

Dar es Salaam. The Mainland Tanzania Premier league continues today for Ruvu Shooting hosting champions Simba at the National Stadium.
League fixture today also has Alliance FC playing Coastal Union at the CCM Kirumba Stadium while Singida will host Azam FC at the Namfua Stadium in Singida and JKT Tanzania will play Tanzania Prisons at the Major General Isamuhyo ground in Mbweni.
Another touch match will see Mtibwa Sugar hosting Kagera Sugar at the Manungu Complex in Turiani, Morogoro Region.
Ruvu Shooting who are placed 12th after collecting 13 points from 10 matches, need victory in the match in order to improve their position in the league standings. The Coast Region side has managed to win only three matches out of 10 and draw three.
Simba, placed third in the standings after collecting 20 points from nine matches, need victory in order to outpace Young Africans who are in the second position after collecting 22 points from eight matches. Azam FC are at the top with 24 points after playing 10 matches.
Ruvu Shooting coach Abdulmutik Haji said their players were going to face a tough encounter against Simba, but they were ready to give their best. “We target victory against Simba. They are among the strong sides in the league but we need victory. We’ll work hard,” he said. Mutiki was brimming with confidence that he will muster three points in the match.
“We have the obligation of winning every match starting with Simba. It is our responsibility to keep our fans happy,” said Haji.
“I am looking forward to this match to be a turning point, so do my players. I understand that we will be up against one of the best teams in the league, but we have quality to prevail,” he said.
Simba head coach; Patrick Aussems predicted that the match will be tough, but he was optimistic about whipping the troubled Coast Region heavyweights and put pressure on pace-setters, Azam FC and Young Africans.
“My players are well aware of the importance of this match, ” said Aussems whose side won 5-1 against Alliance last Wednesday. “We should continue with the same winning spirit,” he said.
