The Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT) has awarded certificates of excellence to 10 tourism stakeholders who have consistently demonstrated excellence in serving their customers.

The certificates were awarded during a ceremony to commemorate Customer Service Week, which is celebrated annually during the first full week in October.

ZCT Public Relations Officer Ms Akh-lam Abdalla said the certificates were issued to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of all the individuals and organisations who play a pivotal role in Zanzibar's tourism industry's success.

"It is our opportunity to honour those who consistently go above and beyond in delivering exceptional customer service experiences, leaving tourists with unforgettable memories," she said.

The following tourism stakeholders were awarded certificates of excellence: Blue Bay Company Limited (hotel), Paradise Village Limited-Oxygen Restaurant (restaurant), Harringford Znz LTD-Safari Blue (marine activities), Cinnamon Spa & Saloon (SPA), Dada Enterprises Limited-Memories of Zanzibar (boutique), and Golden Tulip Airport Hotel (conference facilities).

Others are Z Hotel-Znz Horse Club (recreation), Nasaha Consultant (destination management organisation), Sun Tours & Travel LTD (tour company), and Khalfan Said Suleiman (tour guide).

Each participant was chosen according to their dedication to following the rules and regulations stated by the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism in the Tourism Act of 2012.

The ZCT's recognition of these tourism stakeholders is a positive step for the industry, which shows that the commission is committed to supporting and promoting excellence in customer service.

This can only benefit the industry as a whole and help attract more tourists to Zanzibar.
