570 households struck off as Tasaf beneficiaries

 Sengerema. At least 570 families from Buchosa and Sengerema districts have been struck off a list beneficiaries  for a Sh600 million grant from the Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF).

Speaking to The Citizen Tasaf coordinator in both districts Rehema Simon said: "We scrutinised the list handed to us by local authorities and found out the 570 families did not qualify as they aren’t living in extreme poverty.”

She said 16,593 disadvantaged households from 106 villages in the two districts will benefit from Tasaf phase III.

Ms Simon further said that Tasaf officials would continue to scrutinise beneficiaries to make sure the most disadvantaged are not sidelined.
