Morogoro: Chife Justice Mr Mohamed Chande has appointed Judge Jacob Mwambejele to investigate and come up with recommendations on ending the ongoing land disputes in Mabwegere.

Conflicts over boundaries dates back to the late 1980s and it pits pastoralists in Mabwegere Village against farmers in six neighbouring areas.

Introducing the judge to the leaders, Dr Ndunguru urged villagers and leaders to cooperate with the judge during his investigation to end the long standing conflict.

“We are tired of farmer-herder disputes. It is time focused on development of our region,” he said.

The appointed judge said the minister has the legal mandate to hire an investigator who would take part in resolving disputes through Land Act No. 18. He called on village leaders to cooperate with him in ending the conflict.
