Dodoma. Parliamentary Foreign Affairs, Defence and Security Committee has failed to submit report on security concerns as directed by Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Job Ndugai.

Mr Ndugai ordered the team to submit its report before the end of the two-week parliamentary meeting.

Speaker’s order followed concerns raised by Nzega Urban legislator Hussein Bashe (CCM) in Parliament on Friday, September 8 as he was seeking Speaker’s guidance on current developments following the attempted assassination on Singida East MP Tundu Lissu.

Committee chairman Adadi Rajabu said his team had limited time but will make sure they finish the job before dispersing after adjournment of the House today.

"We need more time for a thorough job and with your permission allow us to extend the timeframe given," requested Mr Rajabu.

Deputy Speaker Dr Tulia Ackson directed Mr Rajab to officially write to the Speaker.
