Tanzania’s per capita GDP crosses $1000 mark

Dodoma. The per capital Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose by 9.1 per cent last year, the Parliament heard on Thursday, June 14, 2018.

Presenting the Economic Survey Report for 2017 and the National Development Plan for 2018/19 in Parliament, the Finance and Planning Minister, Dr Phillip Mpango said in the House that on average, a Tanzanian was worth Sh2.26 million in 2017 from Sh2.086 million in 2016.

In United States Dollar terms, Tanzania’s per capital GDP rose to $1,021 in 2017 from $958 in 2016, the Finance and Planning Minister, Dr Phillip Mpango said.
