Amana unveils branch in Tanga

Tanga. The opening of Amana Bank branch has been termed a blessing for small entrepreneurs in the region.

The Tanga branch would be the first of the commercial bank, which operates under Ismalic laws, to provide soft loans to small entrepreneur groups under its Solidarity Group Facility (SGF) this month. The director of the bank, Dr Muhsin Salim Masoud, said in Tanga that the establishment of the facility was approved by the bank’s board of directors in May, this year.

“This will be the Amana Bank’s contribution to the fight against poverty and efforts directed at upgrading small enterprises with an aim of improving livelihoods,:” Dr Masoud said. He said that the bank’s strategic plan was to reach thousands of Tanzanians, a majority of whom belong to medium and small income groups under financial services inclusion.
