Government reacts to death of 4 tourists, guide

Dar es Salaam. The government has said it has been deeply saddened by the death of four tourists, a guide and a driver in Arusha.

Yesterday’s accident involved a Toyota Land cruiser owned by Tabia Safaris Limited and a lorry which is a property of Ganday General Trading and Transport Company Limited of Kenya.

They collided at around 10am at Kwarenga at Sepeko Ward on the Dodoma-Arusha highway in Monduli.

The four killed tourists had Spanish and Italian nationalities.

A tour guide and a driver of the vehicle in which tourists were being transported from Arusha to Tarangire National Park were also killed.  

A statement issued on Sunday, September 2, by the head of communications department in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Ms Dorina Makaya, quoted deputy minister Japhet Hasunga as saying he was deeply saddened by the tragedy.
