Minister halts answering question as Sugu enters Parliament amid tumultuous welcome

Dodoma. A deputy minister stopped for about two minutes on the podium Monday as opposition lawmakers clapped their hands and banged tables to welcome Mr Joseph Mbilinyi alias Sugu (Mbeya Urban – Chadema) back to the debating chamber for the first time since he was released from prison.
The deputy minister in the President's Office (Regional Administration and Local Governments), Mr Josephat Kandege, who was responding to a question had to pause as the opposition MPs banged tables to welcome Mr Mbilinyi.
Mr Mbilinyi shook hands with Mr Nape Nnauye (Mtama --CCM) and moved on to his opposition colleagues.
He also shook hands with ministers seated before he took his seat.
Parliamentary chairman Andrew Chenge asked the opposition MPs to remain calm to enable Mr Kandege to proceed with the answering of the question.
