Missing students offends District Commissioner

Mbulu. Some 35 students have not reported for form one studies at Murray secondary school in Mbulu District, Manyara Region. This was established during a prompt visit by the District Commissioner, Mr Chelestino Mofuga.

Speaking at the school, Mr Mofuga directed the Murray ward executive officer to make sure that within five days, legal actions is taken against parents and guardian of the students who have not reported for studies. He said the parents and guardians should be made to send the children to school.

He said it was amazing that some parents and guardians fail to send their children for studies while the government has been providing education for free from primary to ordinary secondary level.

He also directed Mbulu district executive director and education officers in the district to start visiting and inspecting all schools in order to identify all challenges they were facing.

“But the headmaster here should for a committee which will conduct audit monthly to establish if teachers fulfil their responsibilities accordingly, especially teaching in accordance with the syllabus and curriculum,” he said.
