Natural Resources and Tourism budget slashed by 22.3pc

Dodoma. The minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr Hamis Kingwangalla, today, May 21, tabled his budget for the 2018/19 financial year, requesting the National Assembly to approve it.
The ministry’s budget stands at Sh115.79 billion, slashed by 22.3 per cent compared to Sh149 billion approved for the current financial year.
Dr Kigwangalla disclosed that his ministry had received Sh72.9 billion by March, which represents 49 per cent only of the current budget.
The development budget has gone down to Sh29.98 billion from Sh51.8 billion that was approved for the 2017/18 financial year.
