Promote peace, urges Mufti

Speaking upon his arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport ahead of Idd celebrations that will be marked at the national level in Moshi, the Mufti said:”It’s our responsibility to maintain peace and tranquility.”

Moshi. Mufti Abubakar Zubery bin Ally has appealed to Tanzanian Muslims to promote peace.

 Speaking upon his arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport ahead of Idd celebrations that will be marked at the national level in Moshi, the Mufti said:”It’s our responsibility to maintain peace and tranquility.”

He later launched new water wells and mosques undertaken by the National Muslim Council of Tanzania (Bakwata) in Hai District, Kilimanjaro Region.

According to Bakwata officials, Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa is expected to grace this year’s Idd celebrations.

Meanwhile Bakwata Hai District Secretary Mohamed Mbowe called on the government to return the institution’s land which was taken by Kilimanjaro Machine Tools Company. “This land belongs to Bakwata; I ask the Mufti to help us to secure it.”

Boma Ng’ombe Mosque Secretary Ally Kiluvya briefed the Mufti about a project of setting up a vocational training institute to complement government efforts of imparting skills to the youth, creating employment and speeding up the attainment of the government’s industralisation goal.
