Dar es Salaam. They have made a flying start in their journey into record label business with the signing of some top names with many praising the management for its efforts. And now it seems WCB are into what might be the greatest coupe in artist management in the country with rumours suggesting that singer Belle 9 is set to join the Wasafi ranks.

Word from the grapevine has it that the RnB singer was this week seen at one the Wasasi practice sessions where he had some vocal and choreography sessions with WCB CEO Diamond. The  label has so far signed four artistes who include the high flying Hermonise, Raymond, Queen Darlin and Rich Mavoko.
Belle 9 as one of the pioneers of today’s Bongo Flava RnB has struggled to make his mark on the industry for several years despite churning out great hits such as ‘Sumu Ya Penzi’, ‘Masogange’, ‘Shauri Zao’, ‘Nilipe Nisepe’, ‘Wewe Ni Wangu’ and of late ‘Burger Movie Selfie’.  In fact one of his songs Masongange is credited to have thrust Agnes Gerald aka Masogange into the limelight and has since become one of the most sought after video vixen.


Requesting that the respective cities campaign for hosting rights, Sidiki added that, “Ultimately, there is an opportunity to tap into the millions of participants and followers of the booming African music.”

“It must have the most motivation to host AFRIMA in line with its values; have the strongest vision in tourism, culture and entertainment; have the most adequate facilities, surrounding infrastructure, security and tourist attraction to host the event and should have hosted successful events in the past that attracted both national and or global audiences.”
In previous news, AFRIMA lauded the decision of the African Union to provide a single passport for all Africans. The period of entries for the awards closed on 30 July. Nominees will be announced on 22 August. At the last ceremony, Cameroon’s Charlotte Dipanda and Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz were big winners.
