Dar es Salaam. The party scene hasn’t been a lonely place lately and any sign of an upcoming gig in the city is always welcomed in style.

And such was the reception that the Vodacom City Concert got over the weekend in celebration of the 2018 customer service week bringing a host of artistes who swept the audience off its feet at the Leaders Club.

There was even an added impetus that the entrance was free and all one required was to have a registered Vodacom number to gain access.

According to organisers the concert aimed at acknowledging and celebrating Vodacom customer ahead of this week’s customer service week.

Featuring an array of prominent Bongo Flava artiste such as Weusi, WCB’s Rayvanny, Navy Kenzo, Dulla Planet and others, the usually quiet Leaders Club grounds was brought to life as frenzied fans sang along.

Juma Nature on the other hand could be past his prime, but on this night he emerged as one of the top entertainers that Tanzania is yet to replace.

Sampling through a set of songs that featured some of his old compositions from the ‘Ugali’ album the Temeke born artiste, showed the audience what they have been missing over the years and maybe show promoters will take note.

He had the energy and verve to even those who were born after he had released some of his hottest singles such as ‘Sitaki Demu’.

Though he remains less popular on the social media craze, he is always the surprise package at some of the concerts in the city which are headlined by the so-called Bongo Flava big wigs.

The Navy Kenzo couple were the other to bring the house down with some of their hits including the recently released Katika.

On the other hand Rayvanny whose hit single ‘Chombo’ has become a sensation was another star attraction as he hit the ground running with a set that got the youthful audience on their feet.

At one point he reached out to his fans who were behind the security perimeter barricade adding excitement to what was already an exciting evening

As part of the proceedings DJ Senyorita who is probably the number one female DJ as she wowed the crowd with her skills on the ‘wheels of steel’ and sense of style.
