Sido receives Sh850m SMEs structures from Suma JKT

Dodoma. The economic wing of the National Service, Suma JKT, has handed over three sheds worth a total of Sh850 million to the Small Industries Development Organization (Sido) that will be used by entrepreneurs in putting up small-scale factories.

Receiving the sheds here at the weekend, the Sido director general, Prof Sylvester Mpanduji, said the completion of the project symbolises a commitment towards building a middle income and industrial economy.

“With these sheds, entrepreneurs in Dodoma have an opportunity to invest in small industries under our guardianship. Our role will be to ensure that there is efficiency and quality is harnessed,” Prof Mpanduji said.

So far, similar sheds have been put up in Mtwara, Manyara, Geita, Kagera and now Dodoma.

He thanked the fifth phase government for having issued Sh5 billion in the financial year 2017/18 which enabled the construction of over ten industrial sheds in various regions.

Earlier, the Suma JKT deputy managing director, Colonel Ahmed Abbas Ahmed, thanked Sido and the government for awarding the tender to the economic wing of the military, promising to continue doing a good and quality job for the long-term benefit of the people and the country.

The Dodoma Sido Regional Manager, Mr Sempeho Manongi said the completion of the project provides an opportunity to entrepreneurs in the region to invest in small industries.
