  • The Roman Catholic Church has managed to form 34 Dioceses in Tanzania Mainland, one of its most outstanding achievements as it marks 150 years of evangelism in Tanzania.

Dar es Salaam. The Archbishop of Nairobi, Cardinal John Njue, has said human beings are supposed to fulfill purposes of creation and the wishes of God.

Cardinal Njue made the statement on Sunday, November 04, 2018 in Bagamoyo, Coast Region during the 150th anniversary of evangelism in Tanzania Mainland.

He said the country will build a better society if every member of the family will fulfill their responsibilities.

"Fathers should stand as the heads of the families, but they should know that their creation was not by bad luck,” he said, adding: "The youth also should fulfil their responsibilities by dressing decently as that will make them comfortable and grow while maintaining discipline.”

He called on faithful to learn and stay close to God even during hardships.

"This is the time to question ourselves; whether the seeds of peace preached by the first missionaries in early days of the church have borne fruits and have been protected," he said.

He called on individual believers to think on the direction taken by the church as it marked the 150th anniversary of evangelism in order to ensure its successes and prosperities are protected. He noted that the commemorations were intended to thank God.

The anniversary is also attended by President John Magufuli, his wife Janeth, former president Benjamin Mkapa and former National Assembly Speaker Anna Makinda, among others.
