Man jailed for life over sodomy

Hai. The District Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 33-year-old man to life imprisonment after it found him guilty of sodomising an eight-year-old boy.

Delivering the ruling District Magistrate Agnes Muhina said evidence presented in court showed beyond reasonable doubt that Godwill Justo, a resident of Uduru Ward, committed the offence.

The victim, the district’s gender desk head, a community officer and the victim’s mother testified in favour of the prosecution.

Earlier, public prosecutor Valeria Banda told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 25 last year.

According to Ms Banda, the accuse sadomised, the boy who is his nephew at around 4 pm.
