Msalala DED involved in car crash

Kahama. Msalala district executive director Simon Berege yesterday, September 14, was involved in a car accident at Sekenke escarpment in Singida.

Igunga District hospital chief medical officer Bonaventure Kalumbete said Mr Berege was injured in his chest, but his condition was improving.

“Yesterday I received two people who were injured in a car accident. They are Mr Berege, and Mashaka Mabula.”

 However, he said they would be discharged anytime today.

Speaking to The Citizen via phone, Mr Berege said the accident occurred after his vehicle hit cattle that were crossing the road while they were on the way from Dodoma to Msalala in Shinyanga.

He said they were going to Msalala to attend a CCM committee meeting where he was scheduled to brief members on the implementation of the party’s election manifesto.

In the car, Mr Berege said he was with Msalala District CCM chairman Mibako Mabubu, district treasurer Masatu Nnyoro and legal officer Mabula.
