  • Deputy minister, Dr Faustine Ndugulile, hopes that all the land in Kigamboni District will be surveyed by 2020.

Dar es Salaam. At least 67 per cent of Kigamboni District is surveyed, a deputy minister says.

Dr Ndugulile, who is also the Kigamboni MP, was speaking on Sunday, March 24, 2019 during a ceremony to hand over title deeds to residents who purchased land at Mwasonga in Kisarawe 2 Ward in the district.

The land was sold to citizens on credit by KC Company.

He commended the company for surveying the land and he  hopes that all the land in the district will be surveyed by 2020.

"Kisarawe2 is a strategic business area that is why 1,000 hectares have been set aside for construction of factories. People who have bought land in the area will not regret because plans are under way to make the area the region’s business hub,” he said.

KC Company director Khalid Mwinyi said plots were sold to citizens on credit.

After paying 20 per cent of the required amount, they were allowed to pay the remaining amount in installments for 24 months.

He said the aim was to enable low-income earners to own land.

According to him, 200 hectares have been taken by 900 people.

"The main challenge in getting customers as people had been conned before.”
