Turkish company shows interest in Tanzania’s diverse sectors

Dar es Salaam. MNG Group of Companies, based in Turkey, has shown interest in investing in the country’s different sectors including transport, tourism, energy and air transport.

The chairman of the board of MNG Group of Companies, Mr Mehmet Gunal, disclosed this when he met with the minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister (Investment), Angellah Kairuki, in a meeting held on February 5, 2019 in Dodoma.

The minister clarified that the Fifth Phase government’s intention was to ensure there was efficient investment in the country and that the policy system of cooperation between private and public sectors attracted more investors in the country.

“We have opportunities and projects that need investment capital in the country as our duty is to ensure that as investors you are offered an enabling environment in opportunities and projects in which you want to invest so that the country can have productivity as a result of that investment,” the minister stressed.

For his part, Mr Gunal said MNG Group of Companies had been attracted by the country’s investment environment.

He further explained that they had repositioned themselves to seize available opportunities and embark on massive project investment in the country.

He also said MNG Group of Companies was even ready to invest in the policy system of cooperation between private and public sectors.

MNG Group of Companies has 42 years of experience in investment in three continents of the world and has implemented over 200 projects.

Some of the implemented projects by the Group include the Chief Dam of Algeria, the construction of Terminal III at Kotoko International Airport in Ghana and the construction of the headquarters of Halk Bank in Turkey.

The meeting was also attended by the minister of Works, Transport and Communications, Mr Isack Kamwelwe, experts in issues of investment and the development of the private sector from the Prime Minister’s Office and experts from the Tanzania Investment Centre.
