Tanzania to host Miss Journalism

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania will host the first ever Miss Journalism World 2018 which is set to be held in Arusha’s Ngurdoto Hotel in December.

The beauty pageant which was this week launched by Speaker Job Ndugai seeks to link beauty and journalism professions in sensitising a culture of peace and international cooperation.

More than 60 countries will feature in the event which joins the other six known international pageants such as Miss World invented in the UK in 1951; Miss Universe (The USA – 1952) and Miss International (Japan -1960).

Also in the list of the known beauty pageant are Miss Tourism World (Malaysia -1994); Miss Earth (The Philippines – 2001 and Miss Grand International - Thailand, 2013. The event coordinator, Samuel Chazi says they are planning to have the best contest which will also promote the country tourism.

Chazi called upon media houses to join hands with organizers in publicizing the event.
