Dar es Salaam. Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL) is hosting the fourth edition of the Mwananchi Thought Leadership Forum (MTLF), with a specific focus on the theme: “Our Agriculture, Our Lifeline”
The minister for Agriculture, Mr Japhet Hasunga, is part of the event where seven other speakers will take to the podium.
The event, started from 9pm and is set to end at 11pm at Kisenga Hall (LAPF Plaza), Kijitonyama in Dar es Salaam, seeks to leverage on the global, continental, regional and local strengths to provide a platform to spotlight issues affecting Tanzania.
Previous editions covered non-communicable diseases, industrialisation and the charcoal economy.
The event brings together government leaders, policy makers, diplomats, chief executive officers of various organisations and students among others.
The speakers are: Southern Agriculture Corridor of Tanzania (Sagcot) chief executive officer Geoffrey Kirenga, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Representative to Tanzania Fred Kafeero, Aspires policy advisor Prof David Nyange and Agriculture Non State Actors Forum (Ansaf) executive secretary Audax Rukonge.
Others are: Tanzania Agriculture Development Bank (TADB) managing director Japhet Justine, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) economist and advisor Dr Anna Temu and Agriculture Ministry’s Planning and Policy advisor Obey Assery.
