Lissu attack: Police sends more investigators to Dodoma

Dar es Salaam. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Simon Sirro has said Police has beefed up its investigation team in Dodoma to assist in swift arrest of attackers Singida East MP, Tundu Lissu on Thursday September 7.

“We have dispatched more police investigators to Dodoma to speed up investigations on the issue,” Mr Sirroreporters at the Police Headquarters today, September 8.

Mr Sirro reiterated the call for information from the people that can help investigators.

“This is not the time to point accusing fingers to one another. We should work together to arrest these people, that should be our focus,” he said.

He assured the public that the suspects will be arrested and that the country was safe.

He said they have already identified the type of the firearm used in attacking Mr Lissu but that was just one step in investigations.

Meanwhile, IGP Sirro said Police were also going on with investigations on the explosion which destroyed part of the building housing IMMMa Advocates offices in Dar es Salaam.
