Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Distilleries Limited (TDL) has introduced a new wine brand in the market, the company announced yesterday.
The brand is known as Dodoma Rose Wine.
TDL is a subsidiary of TBLK Group. Made from locally produced grapes, Dodoma Rose Wine will be available countrywide at the recommended retail price (RRP) of Sh10,000.
Sales started on Friday last week (July 15th 2016).
The decision to name the new product after Dodoma was derived from the fact that besides being the second largest grape producing area in sub-Saharan Africa, the region (Dodoma) is also the home of Tanzanian wine, according to the TBL Group marketing director, Ms Kushilla Thomas.
“It is therefore, only deserving that this region has a wine that honours its heritage,” she said.
