Chris Brown has officially added “Doctor” to his name.
The R&B star was awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Visual & Performing Arts by Harvest Christian University, a faith-based institution in the United States, marking another milestone in a career that has spanned music, dance, and large-scale performance production.
Brown shared photos from the graduation ceremony on social media alongside the caption: “I DID A THING.”
The recognition comes during a busy period for the singer, following the release of his latest album Brown and ahead of his upcoming “The R&B Tour” with Usher.
First rising to fame in the mid-2000s, Chris Brown has grown into one of the most commercially successful artists in contemporary R&B, known for chart-topping hits, high-energy performances, and visually elaborate music videos that have helped shape modern pop and R&B culture.
The honorary doctorate was awarded in recognition of his influence in visual storytelling, choreography, and stage performance innovation across the entertainment industry.
The achievement also comes as his latest album Brown continues strong commercial success, debuting at number seven on the Billboard 200 and becoming his 13th top-ten album.
Dr Chris Brown joins a growing list of global entertainers recognised with honorary doctorates, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Usher, Busta Rhymes, Viola Davis, and Tanzania’s hip-hop artiste Chemical.
