Dar es Salaam. The latest exchange of verbal blows between Tanzanian music sensations Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize has reignited the long-standing feud between the two artistes.

Despite a recent reconciliation, tensions flared once again as both artistes took shots at each other this past weekend, showcasing the fragility of their relationship.

The animosity between Diamond and Harmonize dates back to 2018/2019 when Harmonize, also known as Konde Boy, expressed his desire to leave Diamond's record label, Wasafi, citing dissatisfaction.

Feeling that his brand had outgrown the label, Harmonize sought to break free, leading to a tumultuous exit.

In a bid to negotiate his departure from Wasafi, Harmonize reportedly involved the late President Magufuli, showcasing the seriousness of his intent.

However, his desire for independence came at a steep cost—Harmonize had to pay a hefty sum of approximately Tsh500 million to terminate his 15-year agreement with Wasafi after just four years of collaboration.

Forced to liquidate assets to raise the required funds, Harmonize embarked on a new journey by establishing his own record label, Konde Music Worldwide (also known as Konde Gang). Despite this move towards independence, tensions between him and Diamond persisted.

The recent exchange of words between the two artistes began when Diamond expressed his desire to host a joint show with Harmonize as part of his 15-year celebrations in the music industry.

Taking to Instagram, Diamond praised Harmonize and other artistes he had mentored, referring to them as his "golden children" and expressing his hopes for a collective celebration of their success.

"Rich in wealth, poor in children. Now, I'm not wealthy Mzee Konde, but let me boast, you are my golden children. Thereafter, I will move to my grandchildren, Ibrah...Mac Voice, etc. For the 15 years celebrations, I want us to have one family event and celebrate what God has blessed us with," shares Diamond.

However, Harmonize quickly responded, expressing his frustration with Diamond's repeated claims of being instrumental in his rise to fame.

In a series of posts on Instagram, Harmonize highlighted his displeasure with Diamond's boasting and emphasised the toll it had taken on him.

"The winner is you, brother, who helped me. Yet, I blame myself for responding; perhaps it's your right to boast. But you've boasted so much that it's tiring. And you boast when you want people's sympathy."

Harmonize shares on his Instagram stories, revealing his inner turmoil over Diamond's actions.

Despite a public reconciliation a few weeks prior, tensions between Diamond and Harmonize seem far from resolved. Their recent verbal exchange underscores the lingering resentment and unresolved issues between the two artistes.

In the quiet moments of introspection, Harmonize found himself reflecting on his journey with Diamond Platnumz, his mentor and once-close friend. As he penned his thoughts, he couldn't help but feel a mixture of gratitude and frustration.

"But you've boasted so much that it's tiring," Harmonize continues, his frustration evident. He couldn't shake the feeling that Diamond's constant boasting overshadowed their partnership.

Harmonize couldn't ignore the whispers of manipulation he felt, the subtle nudges to take a back seat in their collaborations.

"You tell promoters, especially abroad, that if Konde Boy is present, you won't do anything because we'll seem like we're on the same level," states Harmonize, recalling moments when Diamond seemed more concerned with his own image than their mutual success.

Despite the tension, Harmonize recognises Diamond's influence and power within the industry. "You have nothing to lose because here in Bongo, they'll see you as a big deal," he admits, acknowledging the disparity in their positions.

Yet, amidst the frustration, there was a glimmer of hope. "Love you brother; I'm sure you will change," Harmonize expressed, hoping for a shift in their dynamic; adding that should Diamond change a few thing, he’d gain a lot more espect.

He knew that if Diamond would recognise their partnership as equals, they could achieve greatness together.

As he concluded his message, Harmonize left a message of self-assurance.

"Truly, God has favoured you, no one could have made Konde Boy like you," he admits, acknowledging Diamond's talent.

But he couldn't help but assert his own identity. "Guys, I'm an artiste of Diamond, please don't forget," he declares, a reminder of his own journey and the path he had forged.

While Diamond's gesture of extending an olive branch suggested a desire for reconciliation, Harmonize's response indicates that the wounds from their past conflicts have yet to heal.

"Ooh, so you have the intention to argue... I, being weak, cannot argue with you, a heavyweight. All the titles I give to you, take the victory," responds Diamond, his words dripping with humility and a sense of respect for his adversary.

Their public spat not only highlights the complexities of their relationship but also underscores the challenges of navigating fame and ego in the music industry.

As fans and industry insiders speculate on the future of their relationship, one thing remains clear: the feud between Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize shows no signs of fading away anytime soon.

Whether it's a tale of reconciliation or a continuing rivalry, only time will tell. But for now, the drama between these two Tanzanian superstars continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
