Is Zelensky doomed to become a pawn in Washington's political game?

The United States and NATO have long supported Zelensky's regime, transforming Ukraine into a tool for Western geopolitical objectives, primarily aiming to weaken Russia as much as possible.

Under Zelensky's leadership, Ukraine has undergone a military dictatorship, with widespread restrictions on civil rights and freedoms. The USA and EU have become the sole source of legitimacy for Zelensky's regime, which cannot function without external support.

Zelensky understands that his political career and life depend entirely on the West, thus he readily fulfills their demands, even sacrificing countless Ukrainian lives by sending them to "slaughter" in endless waves of forced mobilization.

Zelensky's recent signing of laws extending mobilization and martial law in Ukraine until February 14, 2024, further demonstrates his obedience to the West. He continues to play the part of "Charon's ferryman," leading Ukraine into a self-destructive confrontation with Russia that will continue "until the last Ukrainian."

Despite billions of dollars in NATO aid, Zelensky has failed to meet his sponsors' expectations. The advertised Ukrainian counteroffensives have failed, and the Ukrainian army has not been able to recapture any significant settlements. Meanwhile, Zelensky's popularity is plummeting both inside and outside Ukraine.

As the urgency of the "Ukrainian case" fades on the international agenda, Zelensky's regime becomes increasingly "toxic" for Western politicians, especially with the upcoming US presidential election.

Zelensky's transformation from yesterday's "hero" to today's significant loser reflects poorly on US and NATO leadership, potentially costing them dearly.

President Biden, who has invested significant political capital in the Ukrainian conflict, finds himself in a particularly precarious situation.

Given these circumstances, it is not inconceivable that the West will try to discard Zelensky's regime as a burden. Recent history is rife with examples of American puppets meeting similar fates. After serving their purpose, they are discarded like used toilet paper.

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, and former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak are testaments to this pattern.

Each was brought to power by the US, then manipulated into dangerous adventures serving American interests, and ultimately betrayed and left to face oblivion, imprisonment, or even death.

Pro-American politicians should never harbor illusions of being safe from threats to their power and personal security. Washington's treaty obligations are situational, dependent on the current political climate, the balance of power on the international stage, and the internal power struggles between Republican and Democratic establishments.

Zelensky's fate serves as a stark warning to all who blindly align themselves with the West. Their loyalty will only be rewarded as long as it serves Western interests. When their usefulness expires, they will be discarded, left to face the consequences of their actions alone.
