Dar es Salaam. The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) parliamentary candidate for Kibamba, Angela Kairuki, has vowed to tackle persistent challenges in the constituency, particularly in water, roads, health and youth employment.
Speaking at her campaign launch today, September 7, 2025, at the Mbezi Magufuli bus stand, Kairuki noted that despite some progress, Kibamba remains underdeveloped due to poor infrastructure and inadequate public services.
“The population of Kibamba is growing every day, but many roads are still unpaved, some areas lack clean and safe water, and health services remain insufficient,” she said.
Kairuki promised to tarmac all major and minor roads, extend water access through projects like the Bangulo tank, and upgrade existing health centres while constructing new ones.
She also highlighted plans to support economic development, particularly for women small-scale traders, by improving market facilities and ensuring large buses drop off passengers at the Mbezi stand to stimulate local trade.
On youth empowerment, Kairuki said she would provide capital, vocational and innovation training, and nurture talent through sports competitions under the 'Kairuki Cup'. She also pledged to combat drug abuse in collaboration with authorities.
“Our youth need the right direction. We will establish innovation colleges, empower them educationally and economically, and support talented individuals until they succeed. I will also oversee a school meals programme to improve children’s health,” she said.
Addressing land issues, Kairuki promised to protect open spaces encroached upon and return them to government use for public projects such as schools, clinics, and playgrounds.
She further emphasised that she would leverage her parliamentary experience and international networks to attract investment and development projects to Kibamba. “There is no government door I will fail to open for Kibamba,” she said.
Kairuki urged residents to turn out in large numbers on November 29, 2025, and vote for CCM candidates for the presidency, parliament, and council seats to ensure leadership guided by consensus and unity.
CCM Ubungo District Chairperson Logatus Mbowe praised Kairuki’s record, describing her as hard-working and a good listener. “The people of Kibamba should not hesitate to give her their votes,” he said.
Former Kibamba MP Abasi Mtemvu also endorsed Kairuki, calling her experienced and capable. “Let us support her fully and ensure we elect her with a large majority on November 29,” he said.
The campaign concluded with a speech by CCM councillor candidate for Mbezi Ward, Pius Nyantori, who pledged to address the ward’s key challenges if elected.
