20 hospital staff fired over papers qualifications

Kibosho Hospital has fired 20 employees on grounds they do not posses minimum academic requirements.

Some of those who were shown the door stormed the Mwananchi Communications Limited offices to air their grievances, calling on relevant authorities to intervene.
Apparently the employees were fired for not having the minimum qualifications of the Form IV school leaving certificate.
Run by the Catholic Church the hospital laid off drivers, assistant nurses, cooks and cleaners. The circumstances under which they were employed were not made clear by the hospital administration.
Reliable sources told The Citizen said the 20 workers had failed to advance academically while in employment after being told to upgrade their skills.
