20-year-old Mwanza girl arrested for possession of 154 duplicate keys

Mwanza. Police in Mwanza have arrested a 20-year-old girl, Ms Sonia Fanuel, a resident of Nyegezi, for possession of 154 duplicate keys.
According to the information availed by the police, the suspect was accused of possessing 53 duplicate door keys and 101 duplicate padlock keys.
Addressing journalists on Friday, September 14, Mwanza regional Police commander Jonathan Shanna revealed that the suspect was detained on September 13, at around 7:45pm.
According to the RPC, the suspect was detained by police when she was inside a room after she sneaked into the house using the duplicate keys.
At least Sh160,000 cash and clothes worth Sh200,000 were reported missing in the incident, confirmed Mr Shanna.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Mr Kenned Obworo, 35, a resident of Mwanza is being held by police in connection with drug-facilitated sexual assaults.
According to the RPC, the suspect was arrested on September 11 at around 8am.
The suspect is allegedly accused of using illicit drugs to rob and rape women.
“The suspect was found with two packets of illicit drugs when he was arrested by the police,” he said.
According to Ms Shanna a similar incident happened on September 10 in Magu District, in which the police arrested one person for possession of illicit drugs.
He further asserted that similar incidents were taking place in other country’s regions such as Dar es Salaam, Geita, Mara and Arusha.
The detained illicit drugs are normally used in the hospitals to treat people with mental illness, revealed the RPC.
