Dar es Salaam. Japanese paint manufacturer Nippon Paint has launched a subsidiary in Nairobi, marking its entry into the East African market.

The company, rated the world’s fourth-largest paint manufacturer by revenue, opened its wholly-owned subsidiary, NIPSEA Paint, last week.

The region is becoming a growing hub of enterprise, characterised by economic development, a burgeoning middle class, and increasing investment opportunities across various sectors.

The region's expanding infrastructure, real estate, and manufacturing industries present significant opportunities for international companies looking to establish a foothold in the market.

"The market has warmly embraced the Nippon Paint brand, and we anticipate even greater customer satisfaction with the expanded product range and enhanced service capabilities," said Mr Jamil Virjee, the managing director of Coat It, Nippon Paint’s distribution partner for automotive refinishes in Kenya.

The growing trend of FDI in East Africa may make the region a significant player on the global economic stage, driving growth, innovation, and prosperity.
