Mixx by Yas and DSE launch stock market investment app

Mixx by Yas CEO Angelica Pesha speaks to the audience during the launch in Dar es Salaam.

Dar es Salaam. In a landmark push for financial inclusion, Mixx by Yas, in collaboration with the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), has launched a new digital investment tool — DSE Hisa Kiganjani - Mini App — now accessible within the Mixx Super App.

The innovative platform, unveiled on Friday, May 9, 2025, is set to revolutionise how Tanzanians engage with the stock market, allowing users across the country to buy and sell shares directly from their mobile devices — securely, affordably, and in real time.

“This is more than just a digital feature,” said Angelica Pesha, CEO of Mixx by Yas, during the launch in Dar es Salaam.

“We’re placing the power of the stock market directly in the hands of Tanzanians. Our goal is to break down traditional barriers and make investing something that everyone can do — whether you’re in a city or a remote village.”

The app — available in both Kiswahili and English — simplifies investing with an intuitive interface, live updates on local and international stock trends, and robust security for transactions.

Speaking at the event, Thomas Matogolo Mongella from the Bank of Tanzania praised the initiative as a game-changer.
“Digital platforms like this are essential for deepening financial markets and empowering citizens to take charge of their financial futures. It aligns with our national goals of expanding access to finance,” he said.

The DSE Hisa Kiganjani - Mini App also complements Tanzania’s broader digital economy agenda, making the capital markets more inclusive and accessible to youth, small business owners, and rural communities.

Peter Nalitolela, CEO of the DSE, said the integration with Mixx Super App marks a major milestone in the exchange’s effort to democratise investment.

“With this tool, we are offering every Tanzanian a chance to be a co-owner in the country’s economic story. Whether you earn a little or a lot, the market is now just a click away — and that’s powerful,” he noted.

The launch event also featured a panel discussion on “The Future of Financial Investment in Tanzania,” which brought together thought leaders to explore how digital tools like the Mini App could boost youth participation, bridge rural-urban investment gaps, and enhance financial literacy.
