Dar es Salaam. Monti International School has been recognised as a model of 21st-century learning by Kinondoni District Administrative Secretary (DAS) Warda Abdallah, who commended the school’s innovative and inclusive approach to education.
Ms Abdallah applauded Monti’s integration of the Cambridge International Curriculum and its emphasis on nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“We are proud to see a school like Monti laying such a strong foundation for future generations,” she said. “The combination of academic excellence and innovation is exactly what Tanzania needs to prepare its youth for a rapidly evolving world.”
She urged parents to stay engaged in their children’s education, highlighting the dual role of technology as both a tool and a challenge.
The school’s founder and director, Fatma Fernandes, revealed plans to expand Monti’s reach with a new campus in Madale offering day and boarding facilities, as well as enhanced sports infrastructure including swimming pools and basketball courts.
“With AI now supporting our teaching process, our educators can spend more time connecting with learners,” said Fernandes, assuring parents that all digital tools used are safe and closely monitored. Monti International, which serves children from age one through primary, is also noted for its inclusive learning environment, especially for learners with autism.
Parent Kaley Milao described the school as “future-ready,” adding, “Monti is preparing our children not just to survive, but to thrive in a world shaped by technology.”
