The Japanese company, which develops and engineers electronic technologies and solutions for use in residential, non-residential, mobility and personal settings, introduced its Interactive Mirror here on Sunday during the ongoing Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (Gitex).

“With an Interactive Mirror, we seek to enhance lifestyle as a new professional health and beauty advisor…it is a perfect solution for ladies’ and men’ salon,” the Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa (PMMAF) general manager for Business to Business (B2B) & Project Business Mr Noriyuki Hayashi, told journalist at Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday.

The Interactive Mirror makes use of in-built high definition cameras.

These cameras enable the mirror to analyze one’s face by pointing out every flaw and make suggestions – through words that automatically appear on the mirror – on how to fix them (the flaws).

It will propose the right makeup that fits you as well as the right type of cosmetics for you to use. The Interactive Mirror, which operates with two types of remote controls, will also propose the type of food that you must eat in order to correct the detected flaws in your skin.

“It performs make up/styling & lighting simulation with an ability to record and play rear view (hair style check),” said the PMMAF director for system solutions communications, Mr Yasuo Yamasaki. Having noticed the flaws, the mirror will tell you how long you should sleep in order to enrich the health of your skin.

The interactive Mirror is just one of the 12 innovative solutions that the company introduced at the annual the annual Information Communications, Technology (ICT) exhibition, which ends on Thursday this week (October 22, 2015).

According to the PMMAF managing director, Mr Shinichi Wakita, the 12 innovative solutions are already available in some countries of Europe and Asia. “We hope to launch the same in the PMMAF region next year,” he said noting that in Africa, it will be first launched in South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria before coming to East Africa.

Some of the introduced solutions/products include a Space Player which allows users to employ Wi-Fi to schedule a variety of content directly from their laptops or handled devices and a Pool Mapping which projects various images in motion on even the surfaces like pools.

The list also include Interactive Floor, 4K Projector, Light ID, Smart Downlight, Interactive Floor System, the Data Archiver and a Home Monitoring System among others. With the Home Monitoring System, one can control the safety of his/her house from anywhere in the world.

This is done by connecting a 3G or 4G enabled smartphone to some wireless door and window gadgets.
