Saudia carries 17.5 million passengers in first half of 2025

Jeddah. Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, transported more than 17.5 million passengers in the first half of 2025, representing a 7.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year, the airline has announced.

The growth was supported by the operation of over 100,000 flights — a 4 percent rise year-on-year — across its network spanning four continents. In total, the airline logged more than 293,500 flight hours while maintaining an on-time performance rate of 89.6 percent.

According to aviation analytics provider Cirium, Saudia ranked first globally for on-time performance in both March and June 2025.

On the international front, Saudia carried 9.6 million passengers between January and June, up 5 percent from the previous year, operating more than 43,700 flights — a 3 percent increase. Domestically, it served 7.9 million passengers, a 10 percent rise, with over 56,400 flights within the Kingdom.

The airline credited these results to the dedication of its national workforce and investments in advanced digital systems aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing the passenger experience.

Saudia currently operates a fleet of 148 aircraft. The carrier plans to add 117 new planes in the coming years, a move expected to boost flight frequencies, expand seat capacity, and open new international routes.

The expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s national priorities in tourism, entertainment, sports, and Hajj and Umrah services, further supporting the Kingdom’s goal of positioning itself as a global travel hub.
