Tanzania experiences blackout in all regions connected to the national grid

Dar es Salaam. Regions connected to Tanzania's national grid are in total blackout following a breakdown at the facility.

However, the Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (Tanesco) has attributed the recent power outage in several areas on Saturday evening to a technical fault in its national grid.

According to a press statement released by the company and seen by The Citizen, technicians are working tirelessly to rectify the glitch.

Tanesco has assured its customers that every effort is being made to restore power supply in the affected areas.

However, the company has called for calm and understanding and said that experts are working to fix the issue and restore electricity.

Affected regions include Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Dodoma, Mbeya, Tanga, Pwani, Morogoro, Mwanza, Tabora, Kigoma, Singida, Njombe, Iringa, Shinyanga, Simiyu, Geita, Kagera, Ruvuma.

This latest setback comes amid intermittent electricity supply in the country.
