The Journalists Accreditation Board (JAB) has reaffirmed its resolve to take firm action against individuals practising journalism without the necessary academic qualifications or formal registration, underscoring its commitment to upholding professional standards in Tanzania’s media industry.
On July 18, 2025, the board banned four radio presenters from Dar es Salaam-based Mjini FM from practising, citing violations of Section 19 of the Media Services Act, which requires all journalists to be registered and accredited before engaging in media work.
